MeHi Food PANTRY

The fo od industry such as (grocery stores, food brokers, wholesalers and manufacturers), furnishes edible, but not sale-able, food for redistribution to the needy.

Products that are close to expiration date (including non perishable items) are donated and immediately distributed. This food is distributed to agencies that provide meals for their clients.

Larger supplies of produce come to the  MiHi Food Pantry through the other Coalition, as well as through local warehouses.

Food brokers and manufacturers also supply an enormous amount of perishable and nonperishable products; high quality products that, for whatever reason (overruns, mistaken orders, or surplus product), they were unable to sell.

MIHI Food Drive
Food drives generate a large source of canned and boxed foods during the holidays and throughout the year. Nonperishable food collected during food drives provides the MiHi Food Pantry with thousands of pounds of food for distribution through Emergency Food Boxes.

Some suggestions for food items to be collected during a food drive are:

Canned Foods: Beans,  Chili, Fruit,  Vegetables, Juice, Meat (chicken/tuna)  Soups.

Bags of Food: Dried Beans, Pasta, Rice ·
Boxed Food: Cereal, Powdered Milk, Macaroni & Cheese,
Other: Baby Food, Baby Formula (all types), Diapers, Peanut Butter

Please donate only nonperishable items. Check expiration dates; we cannot distribute food past the coded date. Please do not donate items in glass containers, juice boxes or other items that may break.
